ilove at the playhouse wine festival
ilove recently appeared at the Playhouse Wine Festival, Vancouver. Great wine deserves great food. Every guest at the dinner received a gift basket with a 250ml bottle of ilove extra virgin olive oil to take away to create their own food masterpieces.

this year's olives
Olive picking in the Wairarapa, New Zealand will soon begin. This years crop size appears to be good, though a little late in ripening.
There also sem to be strong variations in which varieties are ripening first on the different groves. We all wait to see how good the quality is this year!

2009 ilove olive oil is shipping
It's that time of the year again.
After decanting of the oil, sending samples to one of New Zealand's top tasters to get the best blend possible, blending and bottling, we have now started shipping this years ilove extra virgin olive oil.
The 2009 vintage is tasting milder than the 2008 but with the unmistakeable flavour of grassiness that is the hallmark of all great New Zealand extra virgin olive oils. The late wet spell at the end of autumn, just prior to picking, took the intense edge off the oil and left a more smooth fruity taste with a fabulous olive aroma.

ilove minnesota
Recently Mike Hanson, one of the New Zealand olive growers who helped create Wairarapa Olives Ltd to create and market ilove xtra virgin olive oil, returned to Minnesota where he was raised on a corn and soybean farm.
