In a visit covering Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Seattle and Minneapolis/St Paul, ilove marketing representative Helen had a great time meeting new and familiar faces, and doing ilove extra virgin olive oil tastings. Available in Canada over the last two years, ilove has begun establishing distribution within the USA through Bear Creek Fine Foods.

2008 extra virgin olive oil launch in canada
Helen, our chief marketeer, is visiting Canada to launch ilove 2008 extra virgin olive oil in late September and October. She will be doing tastings at several stores while there.

this year's extra virgin olive oil nearly ready
Picking is now over, but in an olive grove there is always much to do. Time for winter pruning. This photo shows some of our younger helpers. Do they help much? Possibly not, but they do have a good time!
While on-grove activity is centred on pruning, this season's extra virgin olive oil has been blended. As usual, the subtle changes in taste from year to year make blending a difficult task, but we use New Zealand's only international olive oil judge to ensure we get it right.
After bottling and labelling it will finally be ready for shipping to our customers!

Olive Picking for the New Zealand season is close to an end - although some varietals on some groves have been slow to mature and are yet to be harvested.
It will be a few months before the new extra virgin olive oil is ready for export. Harvesting must be completed, then settling, decanting, settling, tasting, testing and careful blending of oil from the different varietals before we can even start bottling.
We can't wait to taste this season's olive oil!
